Isabela Josephine is here! Her parents, Michele and Brandon, and her two brothers, Miles and Izaac, are calling her Ela Jo. She's a lucky little baby as she gets a huge fabulous family that lives in the same area. Congratulations! I have to start planning my trip to Richmond!

Janice and Darren have a daughter!! This is especially remarkable because they only found out about her August 5, and she came a month later! That would make anyone's head spin! The little lady already knows how to make a dramatic entrance. And she's crazy beautiful! Welcome to the family Ellie! You have super awesome parents!

Baby Leo 2016!

Jamie and Emily had an adorable baby boy Leo! He wasn't due until July, but Leo has announced to the world that he does as he pleases and he didn't want to miss summer. He's little but he's mighty and healthy. For now he spends a lot of time in the NICU with his fun-loving parents, but I'm sure he'll be home soon. Leo's parents are passionate about their loves: bicycling, medicine, dancing like no one is watching, and their cat, but Leo is sure to be their biggest and most fabulous obsession.

Candice, Tim, and Cora 2016

Candice is my friend from college, so I've known her for about 17 years. After college, we both moved around a lot, so we weren't often in the same state. We met up in New York more years ago than I care to recall, so when I found out that she's temporarily in Richmond from Facebook so I reached out to meet up while I was there. I was super excited to see her, Tim and their 10-month-old daughter Cora. I probably first met Tim 13 years ago or so and he's always been super nice. It's so great to see them being terrific parents together. Cora is such a fun little combo of them and she's such a relaxed little baby. (She goes to restaurants! My kids were nightmares in restaurants.)

We dropped Tim off at his friend's birthday celebration which started at Stone Brewery, and then Candice, Cora, and I went back to Proper Pie near where we started. They serve these delicious individual-size pies and we both got the barbecue and peach pie. Yes. Eat that if you get the chance!

It was so fun hanging out. I got to hold and play with Cora, and Candice and I had tons to catch up on and talk about- work, motherhood, our significant others. We're both in very similar places and it was really nice to relate, and agree, and for me, it was wonderful to see Candice as happy as I've ever seen her. Hope to see you guys again soon!

Isaac Turns Five 2013!

Isaac is one of my friend-babies that was born in the pre-blog era so he didn't have a post to celebrate his arrival in the world. I can't believe he's already turned 5! I still remember me and Kevin rushing over to meet him for the first time, and how awkward I felt holding a baby back then. He's had numerous celebrations this week with his school, his family, and even with some special sushi, but here's one more little guy. You're every bit as awesome as your mother says you are!

Baby William T 2012!

I have been so excited for this little guy to arrive.  I was really hoping he would be James's birthday buddy since I adore his parents Megan and Ed.  Alas, much like James he didn't have any desire to come on his due date. But oh boy, is he delightfully scrumptious! Look at his little sleeping expression as if to say, "don't bother me, it's me time."  I have been staring at his photo more often than is healthy. I am in love.  Congratulations, Megan and Ed! You are going to be fabulous parents! I guess you already are!

Baby Hudson 2012!

There was a lot of excitement about the actual arrival date of Christina and Dan's baby as opposed to the due date. The official due date was next week!  There was talk that he might even be a leap year baby, something that Christina was rooting against.  (Am I the only one who thinks it's cool?) However, as Christina's pregnancy progressed her doctors decided the baby would be evicted by today via induction, and if necessary by c-section if the baby didn't take action on his own.  Well, Hudson is precocious, and decided to come on his own this weekend, a week and half early.  He's already back home after staving off a little early jaundice.

I don't have a family photo of all three of them yet, but the cuteness in this photo should more than suffice for now.  Anyway, I plan on going to meet him today, so there will obviously be more of him on the blog then. Congratulations, Christina and Dan! You're a mom and dad now! Isn't it wild? And Hudson is beautiful!

Baby Evan 2012!

My dear friend Meghan and her husband Ben had their second son, Evan, in early January.  Their first son, Nathan, turned 6 years old just a few day later. How beautiful is their family? Meghan looks amazing right after having had a baby too.

I met Meghan in college; she was my big sister in my sorority.  I don't see Meghan nearly enough since college because Ben's job has taken then to Japan and California for years, but she's the kind of friend you keep forever. Her three boys are very lucky to have her.

Becky and Brandon had a precious little preemie Connor. He was born at only 26 weeks and at 1 pound 15 ounces, but he was healthy and breathing well. We are all pulling for his speedy progress.  Preemies are often released from NICU at around the time they were due, so for Connor this should be in December sometime.
