Our Wedding

We had an outdoor wedding ceremony in Harwich Port, Massachusettes on June 6, 2009. We had a quartet play the Four Seasons when my father walked me down the aisle. We wrote our wedding ceremony and had our friend Brady officiate it. We also wrote our vows, and we asked Janice, my mother, and Briggs to do poetry readings we chose.

Our ceremony was a little shorter than we planned, so our cocktail hour ended up being an hour and half.  We had the cocktail hour on the patio of our venue with views of the Nantucket Sound, and inside by the piano bar. Our friend Jinsoo, who is a talented classical pianist, generously played the piano for us during the cocktail hour. We picked the Cape Cod Mojito (cranberry mojito) for our wedding drink because Kevin is from Cape Cod and my family is from Cuba.

Since our wedding was on the water, the reception had a nautical theme. Our first song was the Sea of Love cover by Cat Power. I personalized the table cards out of pictures of the guests. Our guestbook was messages in a bottle. Our wedding gift was starfish winestoppers. Our wedding cake was covered with sugar shells and sugar sand.

Our honeymoon was in Greece; we went to Athens, Santorini, and Folegandros.
