Fourth of July 2018

Since we're leaving Long Island this summer, we decided to finally go to the fireworks at our local beach. The fireworks were way more impressive than I thought they'd be, and there were two competing fireworks shows - one close on our beach on the east and one at a bit of a distance to the West. It was Miranda's first time seeing fireworks (and the first time James can remember).

There was also a really out-of-control bonfire.
I thought the beach was all on fire!

I just liked this picture

P.S. Our kids really need sleep. Without sleep, they're really next level little monsters the next day and sometimes the day after that and the day after that. Sometimes they just get sick after missing too many bedtimes. Which is why Miranda made it to age 4 without seeing any fireworks. I was actually more worried about James because he gets up early regardless of bedtime. Miranda at least knows how to sleep late. No matter, James recovered somewhat better than Miranda today.
