Baby Holly 2018!

Cheryl her husband Ryan had another beautiful baby! It's the only kind they make. Baby Holly was born last week! So excited for them! Congratulations!

February Break 2018

James and Miranda had no school over February break. Kevin doesn't have off though so we took it easy. We played a lot of board games, painted, and went for a lot of walks, and I think they're both pretty eager to get back to school- 1st grade and nursery school that is.

Kevin's 38th Birthday 2018

For Kevin's birthday this year, he wanted to go to the Metropolitan Museum of Art's exhibit on David Hockney. We made a day of it and also went to a good Vietnamese restaurant for lunch and tried a brewery he'd herd good things about in Brooklyn.

We actually went to lunch before the museum, but it's my blog, and no one reads it anyway, and I liked the pictures in this order better.

After lunch and the museum, we drove out to Other Half Brewing Company in Brooklyn. The crowd was really different than our last brewery, Trillium. Haha. I felt a little-- but not quite too -- old.

Grandma Kathy's 65th Birthday 2018

Today is Grandma Kathy's 65th birthday. She was here this weekend visiting so we took her to Paumanok Vineyards for a birthday wine-tasting and then we bought her the bottle of her choice. She's back on the Cape today but she went to lunch with her mother, sisters, and brother. Happy birthday! Hope it was a favorite one.

It's really a horror that it's been 6 years since Newton shooting and this is still happening all the time.

Valentine's Day 2018

We took advantage of both kids being at school on Wednesday morning to go on a brunch date for Valentine's Day. We went to Port Jefferson, had brunch at Toast Coffeehouse, walked around the harbor a little and even bought some books at Friends of the Library Used Book Shop- for ourselves and for the kids.

Poetry Out Loud 2018

The PWR Program helped judge Poetry Out Loud, a program to encourages the high school students to learn about poetry through memorization and recitation.
