Christina and Aria Visit 2016

Christina and Aria visited here on Thursday. Aria and Miranda are pretty close in age so we figured they'd either play together or possibly attack each other. The latter was a little true at the beginning, but by the end of the visit all three kids were besties. Miranda was so sad that Aria had to go home! So sad! "I want the baby back!" Good thing we can visit again soon!

Summer Olympics- Rio 2016

I watched the Opening Ceremonies with Janice and Darren in DC and played it the next morning for James. It was tough explaining some stuff to James, like what countries are, or how Brazil covered their history of slavery in the opening performance. Then we watched some more with Nana both during the day with the kids, and at night after they were asleep. At night we debated whether the swimmers or track olympians were hotter as a group. Haha. Winter Olympics in two years!

Rocketship Playground Playdate 2016

We had a playdate with some of James's preschool classmates. Mylah's mom Samantha organized it. We were going through a heatwave though, so only a few of us made it out, but I thought it was nice for James. I'm so sad that he's the only one that's going to his Kindergarten, though the little girl that lives directly across the street, Audrina, is starting Kindergarten with at the same school in two weeks.

Nana Visits- August 2016

Nana visited from Sunday through Tuesday, and we took it easy. We watched some Olympics, spent time snuggling with the kids in the air conditioned bedrooms.

Smithtown Water Playground 2016

Since we were at the Nesconset Library for the Author Talk, the kids and I fully enjoyed the facilities. Inside we spent some time playing in the Children's Section, and outside we enjoyed both the playground and the water park. Afterwards, we went for ice cream at McNulty's. Fun summer day!

Not going to lie though, there were so many complaints from James. I told him numerous times, "This is basically the most fun day ever," and he didn't disagree but countered with complaints such as that I hadn't brought a bathing suit for the splash pad, hadn't let him play in the dry playground enough time, and my least favorite-- the ice cream was too melty. *Head explodes.*

Local Author Fair at Smithtown-Nesconset 2016

Last Saturday, both Erika S. and Kevin participated in a local author fair at the Smithtown-Nesconset library. They spoke about their books, the writing and publication processes. I was mostly watching the kids in the children's section of the library, but I did get a few pictures.

Rachel and Tim's 10th Wedding Anniversary 2016

Ten years ago, I missed the wedding of these two wonderful people, and 10 years later I'm still kicking myself. I couldn't figure out a way to get to Pennsylvania for the wedding. It's been both helpful and amusing having Rachel advise and comment on marriage as she's been three years ahead of me. She obviously knows what she's doing as they both remain awesome individually and collectively, and have two awesome mini-people too!
