Memorial Day at Omaha Storm Chasers 2019

Kevin thought it would be fun to take the family to the Omaha Storm Chasers minor league baseball game at Werner Center to celebrate Memorial Day. Ha ha! We all lasted like 15 minutes before the kids begged to go over to the kids' playground.

Aksarben Farmer's Market 2019

This was our first time at the Aksarben Farmer's Market together. Aksarben is a neighborhood in Omaha that used to be where the horse track was. "Aksarben" is just Nebraska written backward! So cheesy! The kids loved the donuts.

Miranda's Pre-K Field Trip to OCM - April 2019

Miranda got to go on another field trip! She went to the Omaha CHildren's Museum with her Pre-K class and looks like she and her friends had a great time.

Easter in Omaha 2019

Kevin's former graduate student Julie invited us over for an Easter party. It was so kind since we don't have any family in Omaha and all our friends are new friends. One of James's classmates Anabelle was also there. They even planned a little Easter Egg hunt for James, Miranda, and Anabelle. It was so sweet!

This Bright Darkness Book Launch 2019

Kevin and I went to Sarah McKinstry-Brown's book launch party for This Bright Darkness at the B-Side of the Benson Theatre in Omaha. She read from the collection and then answered questions. After we were able to get a signed copy and talk with the party-goers, a lot of whom either work with Kevin or graduated from the grad program he's directing now. I'm looking forward to reading the collection!

Christmas in Omaha 2018

This was our first Christmas with just the four of us at home. It was nice and low-key. We had a nice dinner and baked cookies for Santa on Christmas Eve. We talked about Nana and Nochebuena. We also Facetimed Grandma on Christmas and talked to all of Kevin's family.

Andrew Visits Nebraska 2018

Kevin's brother Andrew came to visit us in Omaha before moving back to Japan.

We got a babysitter, had dinner at El Basha, and went to a Creighton game!

Woo!!!

We got some burgers Omaha Tap House, and then walked it off on the West Papio Trail.
